Description
A shadow of a cougar chasing its prey appears on the Superstition Mountains exactly at sundown during the spring and fall equinox. Any clouds or haze on the western horizon will obscure the shadow. Fortunately the phenomena usually lasts for 5 to 7 days around the equinox in March and September. This photo was made in 5 exposures stitched together to create a long panoramic.
